19th March - Fudge Book Club, Hull. I'll be discussing my work as part of the group's "Made in Hull" season.

23rd March - "Girls Own Adventures : Women in Crime Fiction", York Literature Festival with Helen Cadbury, Sophie Hannah and Elizabeth Haynes. York Theatre Royal, 7.45pm (£8).

27th March (and 24th April, 8th May, 22nd May, 19th June and 17th July) - Writer in Residence at the "Mystery on the Rails" exhibition, National Railway Museum, York (11am to 4pm). Let's write some rail-inspired crime stories together.

24th May - Tale Spinners, East Riding Theatre, Beverley. I'll be the special guest and talking about my work as part of the live story telling event, 7.30m (£6).

7th June - Authors on the Buses. I'll be joining Louise Beech on the mobile East Riding Library. We call at Skirlaugh (9.30am), Bilton (11am) and Gilberdyke (2pm).

15th July - "Crime by the Sea", Newark Book Festival. I'll be chairing Harry Brett, David Mark and Luca Veste. Newark Town Hall, 11.30am (£5/£3).

10th August - "Mapping The City", Kardomah 94, Hull. I'll be chairing and discussing being a Hull writer with Val Wood, Lee Harrison and Vince Groak, 7pm (£5).

16th September - "Dark Shores", Noirwich Crime Festival with Lone Thelis, Daniel Pembrey and Harry Brett. Norwich Arts Centre, 3.45pm (£8).

20th September - "A Life in Crime", The Ropewalk, Barton-upon-Hull. I'll be talking crime writing with June Taylor, 7.30pm (free if booked in advance/£3 on the door).

17th - 19th November - Hull Noir (as part of the 2017 UK City of Culture programme). Details to follow...
